IGP NEVER ORDERED A CURFEW, SUCH ANNOUNCEMENT FALSE, MISCHIEVOUS

The Nigerian Police has risen to debunk recent misinformation regarding the imposition of a curfew ahead of the planned nationwide protest. Some news outlets, particularly https://www.dockaysworld.com.ng/ had  reported that the Inspector General of Police has imposed a strict curfew starting at 4 p.m. for all protests.  The police through the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi described the information as entirely false and mischievous. The NPF categorically stated that the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has not declared any curfew, additing that such information would have been communicated via the official Nigeria Police Force platforms if it were true. Senate Summons Petroleum Minister , NNPCL , CBN NPA, others over alleged economic sabotage ...As investigative panel blows hot

  The Senate through its Ad - hoc committee mandated to investigate alleged economic sabotage in the Nigerian Petroleum Industry , has summoned various stakeholders in the sector  for interrogation . The 15 - man Committee led by the Leader of the Senate , Senator Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele  ( APC Ekiti Central), made this  known to journalists on Thursday at a press briefing on scope of assignment given  it and its readiness to unveil the alleged saboteurs in the sector.  Key among the stakeholders in the petroleum sector , summoned to appear before the committee at public hearing fixed for September 10th to September 12th , 2024, are the Minister of State for Petroleum , Senator Heineken Lokpobiri , the  Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited ( NNPCL) , the Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN) and the Nigeria Ports Authority ( NPA) . BREAKING: Ohanaeze President Iwuanyanwu Is Dead

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is dead. Born September 1942, the leader of the apex Igbo organisation died on Thursday, 25th July, 2024. Aged 82 years, Chief Iwuanyanwu was elected the PG of Ohanaeze Ndigbo on the 20th of April, 2023 following the death of Prof. George Obiozor. An associate who doesn’t want his name in print said the octogenarian died in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja. He becomes the second President General of Ohanaeze Ndígbo to die in office after his predecessor, Prof. George Obiozor also died in office. Nigeria and China have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening relationship during the visit of China’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Xiao Doing to Nigeria. Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, stated this while welcoming the Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.
