Ohaneze Ndigbo endorses Atiku Abubakar of PDP for Presidency.

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has endorsed the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Akitu was endorsed on Thursday during a meeting of Imeobi, the highest decision making body of Ohanaeze. A communique was issued after the meeting and signed by John Nnia Nwodo, President General Ohaneze Ndigbo World Wide. Ohaneze noted that the nomination of Peter Obi by a major political party, PDP as the Vice presidential candidate has given Ndigbo an opportunity for inclusivity. Nwodo went ahead to urge Ndigbo to seize the moment. According to him, the presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku Abubakar has made an avowed commitment to restructuring of the federation and reconfirmed same during his recent visit to the United States in his meetings high-level US officials. Ezekwesili withdraws from presidential race, insists on coalition

 Oby Ezekwesili has this morning  stepped aside from the presidential race and has rather opted to help build a coalition to defeat the All Progressives Congress and the People’s Democratic Party in the  February 16, 2019  election. In a statement issued by the spokesperson for the Obiageli Ezekwesili Presidential Campaign Organisation, Ozioma Ubabukoh, Ezekwesili was quoted as saying that her decision to withdraw from the race followed extensive discussions with Nigerians at home and the Diaspora. According to her, the action is also prompted by an examination of the country’s electoral environment sequel to the 2019 presidential debate of Saturday, January 19, 2019. “This decision followed extensive consultations with leaders from various walks of life across the country over the past few days. I deem it necessary for me to focus on helping to build a veritable coalition to ensure a viable alternative to the  #APCPDP  in the forthcoming elections,” the statement read.

NUJ President Isiguzo Tasks Journalists, Security Agents On Need For Synergy

Citizens #WalkForNigeria as ACPN flags off campaign

The Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) will officially flag off its presidential campaign today  on Monday, January 7, 2019   in the Federal Capital Territory.  This was contained in a press statement issued  on Sunday morning  by the media team of the party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili.  According to the statement, supporters of the ACPN presidential candidate will also embark on a walk in seven states - Adamawa, Ebonyi, Edo, Kaduna, Kano and Kwara.  The statement noted that the ACPN presidential candidate, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, would flag off her #HOPE2019 campaign with her running mate,  Abdulganiyu Galadima,  at 12noon on January 7, 2019 . There was elation at the Government House, Enugu on Thursday when three victims of the recent fire outbreak at a petrol station in Trans Ekulu, Enugu whose commercial bus and two tricycles were burnt during the inferno took delivery of replaced ones donated by the governor, in fulfillment of his promise when he visited the scene. Briefing Government House correspondents, after the bus and tricycles were formally handed over to them by the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mrs. Nkechi Eneh, on behalf of the governor, the jubilant beneficiaries who displayed different dance steps, praising God and thanking the governor for the surprise package, said that today was the happiest day of their lives. They added that Gov. Ugwuanyi has wiped away their tears and prayed fervently for God to continue to grant him success in all his endeavors, especially his victory at the forthcoming elections.
