Current Senator and major contender in the forthcoming Anambra Gubernatorial elections under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Uche Ekwunife has affirmed that her achievements in the Senate and years of experience in public service as some of the major reasons she would get the support and mandate of the electorates to become the next Governor of Anambra State. BREAKING NEWS! Insecurity: Enugu govt seals high risk leisure premises

The Enugu State Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA) in a gestapo command has sealed ‘Spices’ a leisure joint along Rangers Avenue in the Independence layout of the State capital. The action which frightened onlookers came shortly after the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, on Tuesday, inaugurated Operation Restore Peace, a special Police operational action plan for stabilization of security order in south east geopolitical zone, in Enugu. Chairman of ECTDA, Dr. Josef Onoh, said the closure of the entertainment place was sequel to the agency’s public notices of December 31 2020 and May 16 2021where it warned operators of nuisance hubs to abate their operation or face the wrath of the agency. Enugu INEC Hqtrs on Fire

Five Hilux Vehicles have been reported burnt as unidentified hoodlums set fire on the Enugu headquarters of the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, Sunday night. A sixth vehicle which also caught fire was partially rescued by the State Fire Service. The attack which happened at about 10pm on Sunday night had the invaders set fire on one of the major offices which was later put out by the Fire Service. It was learnt that a three seater chair in the office and a few minor things were burnt before the fire was put to stop. There was no casualty from the attack just as the timely arrival while the timely arrival  the fire service . Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority issues 30 days ultimatum to owners of structures obstructing the waterways.

All building owners whose structures were built on waterways in all estates that forms the Enugu City Master Plan have been warned by government to quietly remove them. Enugu State governments decision follows the incessant flooding occasioned by the rainy season and compounded by the blocked drainages in Enugu metropolis. According to a statement issued by Executive Chairman, Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA), Josef Onoh, buildings are collapsing rampantly due to the blocked waterways.
