Economic Meltdown: Ugwuanyi assures prompt payment of Enugu workers salaries

Governor Ugwuanyi in a brief remark on the occasion of a prayer session to usher in New Year, organized by labor in the state for civil servants at the state new secretariat complex observed that constant payment of civil servants’ salaries would also continue to activate the economy of the state. “We will continue to pay salaries, it is only when we do that, we can activate the economy of the state,” he said. EKWEREMADU MOURNS OLUBADAN

The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has condoled with the government and people of Oyo State on the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Samuel Odulana, describing the late royal father as a patriot and sage.   Reacting to the sad development, Senator Ekweremadu said the Olubadan had left a big void that would be difficult to fill.   He said: “There is no doubt that the Olubadan was a man of integrity who spoke his mind and was always ready to defend the truth. Lagos Rep objects to planed relocation of Appa trailers to Amuwo-Odofin

The Member representing Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency of Lagos State in the House of Representatives, Hon.   The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, on Monday, told former President Olusegun Obasanjo that “Biafra is not dead and will never die”. Obasanjo, while presenting a paper entitled: “Resurgent Biafra Agitation: Born in Error, Ignorance and Frustration,” at a public discussion on Biafra, organised by Nextier Advisory in Abuja, on January 15, had said Biafra was a dead issue.
