Second term: Bishop Chukwuma says no state is as peaceful as Enugu... urges Ugwuanyi to build legacy projects

Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma has appealed to Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State to leave legacies that posterity would remember him for. Chukwuma who made the appeal on Sunday in Enugu in a sermon during an Inter-denominational Christian Service for the second term inauguration of the governor expressed gratitude to God for the peace, unity and good governance being enjoyed in Enugu State under the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. Archbishop Chukwuma who maintained that “no state in Nigeria is as peaceful as Enugu State”, also thanked God for the peaceful general election in the state and successful first term of Gov. Court restrains INEC from issuing Certificate of Return to Okorocha

An Owerri High Court has issued an Order restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from reversing its decision not to issue a certificate of return in respect of Imo west senatorial election. The Suit with NO HOW/596/2019 was filed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial candidate for Imo West Hon Jones Onyeriri against the INEC. The presiding Judge, Justice E.F. Njemanze, ordered that the status quo be maintained until the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice. The motion on notice was adjourned to 5th of June 2019 for hearing.

Breaking News Flash: INEC declares PDP winner in all Zamfara elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared People’s Democratic Party(PDP) candidates winners in the Governorship, and National Assembly elections in Zamfara state. The commission also declared National Rescue Movement (NRM) winner for a State Assembly seat. The electoral body said it will issue Certificates of Return to the Governorship and National Assembly winners on Monday. State Assembly members-elect will get their Certificates of Return on Friday 31st May 2019.

2nd Term Inauguration: Enugu Muslims pray for Buhari, Ugwuanyi

Muslims in Enugu State held Jummat prayers at their Central Mosque located at Owerri road, Enugu, to mark the last Friday of the first term of the administrations of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and prayed to Allah to grant them success in their second term. Offering prayers at the event, which was graced by Gov. Ugwuanyi as part of the activities marking his 2 nd  term inauguration, the Chief Imam Enugu, Imam Zurka Said, also prayed for the successful inauguration of President and Gov.  Ugwuanyi and commended the governor for his peace initiatives, humble disposition and commitment to national unity. Masari Approves Death Penalty For Cattle Rustling, Kidnapping In Katsina

Aminu Masari, Katsina State Governor Governor Aminu Masari has signed into law mandatory death sentence for anyone convicted of cattle rustling or kidnapping in Katsina State.  Similarly, the offence of rape carries the mandatory sentence of life imprisonment in addition to a fine and compensation to victim. Theses decrees come on the heels of recent attacks in the state, the latest being the attack on three communities in Dan Musa, Faskari and Batsari local government areas leading to  the death of 26 people . In reaction to the killings President Muhammadu Buhari had summoned Governor Masari and ordered the Security Chiefs to investigate the killings. RANGERS GETS NEW GYMNASIUM

International football club of Enugu today at the Players Camp received the keys to the new house added to the Players Camp containing the Gymnasium and the physiotherapy equipment.  The Deputy Governor of Enugu State Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo who represented the Governor charged Rangers to use the house and the equipment therein for players in particular and the State at large. Earlier in his speech, the Hon.
