Wike Vows To Support Six Dismissed Officers

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers state, has described the dismissal of six police officers attached to Governor Nyesom Wike during the December 10 rerun elections, as “the height of injustice”. A statement by the state PDP Chairman, Felix Obuah, said “the humiliation of the six Police officers, which was beamed on national television, clearly showed that the police authorities acted the script of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who were not favored by the outcome of the just concluded Rivers Re-run Election.” Obuah, in the statement which was signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam, further berated the police for allowing itself to be used in what he called a “show of shame”.   The PDP accused the Inspector-General of Police for insulting the sensibilities of Nigerians over his remark that the dismissed police officers were engaged in professional misconduct, arguing that the dismissed police officers were statuto

Nigerian Air Force Acquires More Combat Helicopters

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, says the Nigerian Air Force has acquired two more Mi-35M combat helicopters from Russia Federation to enhance its capability in ongoing internal security efforts. He has also given the assurance that the Nigerian Air Force remains committed to ensuring that the current gains in the war against Boko Haram terrorists in North East Nigeria is sustained. Pro-Biafra Group Begins Mobilisation For Referendum World Wide

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has commenced widespread mobilization and sensitization for referendum ahead of the emergence of the independent state of Biafra. This was contained in a press statement by the spokesman of the group, Comrade Emma Powerful. According to him “IPOB family members worldwide are working tirelessly to restore our long lost freedom and political independence from the Luggardian creation called Nigeria without bloodshed. “We invite the international community, men and women of goodwill to come and monitor this peaceful referendum in Biafraland”. FEC Approves Abuja Airport Closure For Repairs

The Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport Abuja will be officially closed for six weeks to enable repair works on the runway which is said to be dysfunctional. Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, disclosed this to State House correspondents after the council meeting. He said that the federal government will also be spending over one billion Naira to complete the Kaduna airport terminal building, a project that had been abandoned for some time. Also the Federal Executive Council approved over 4 billion Naira for the purchase of firefighting equipment to enable firemen in the country to perform their functions well. Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Danbazzau disclosed this to state house  correspondents after the council meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
