Ahead of February 25, 2023 Presidential Elections in Nigeria, women have been called upon to vote only a Presidential Candidate that has demonstrated capacity and competence.
Making this call in Abuja during a media parley, the National Women Leader of Labour Party, Ambassador Dudu Mamman Manuga, accompanied by many prominent women including Lady Chidi Onyemelukwe affirmed that only her party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi can create the platform for the desired inclusion of women in governance.
According to Dudu, when there is peace and security in the country, the women will be able to do what they need to do in their day to day lives.
She said the outcome of insurgency and insecurity in the North have left lots of women homeless, unproductive and hopeless.
Sighting promises made by Peter Obi and Datti campaign group, she noted that with Labour Party, Nigeria will not only shift from consumption to production but will also create jobs for women in the country.
Speaking on the theme, Operation REMOP, The final push, birthing the New Nigeria, the Labour Party woman leader revealed that the concept of REMOP is to reach out, engage, mobilize women in the society, empowering them and as well protect them by creating laws that respects the right of women.
She said the plan is to equip Nigerian women and girls to stand out in the global marketplace through world class education, training, research and scholarship.
If this is achieved through Peter Obi as President, she believes the country will be able to nurture more female achievers that will compete with the best in the world.
