GOVERNOR SOLUDO ATTENDS OBI OF ONITSHA 20TH OFALA FESTIVAL

 


Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo has emphasized on the need to ensure that the Igbo culture takes it's pride of place in the affairs of his government.

The Governor had during his inauguration as the Executive Governor promised to reorganize the State Ministry of Culture to spearhead, Entertainment and Tourism to reflect on the states cultural heritage more.

Governor Soludo was speaking during the 20th Ofala Festival of His Royal Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, the 21st Obi of Onitsha in Onitsha, Anambra State.

Igwe Achebe is the Chairman, Anambra State Council of Traditional Rulers and also Chairman, South East Traditional Rulers Council.

While congratulating, HRM, the Governor noted that though he was witnessing the festival for the third time, it was his first as the Executive Governor.

Commending Igwe Achebe, he described his 20 years of rule in Onitsha as impactful.

Governor Soludo revealed that as the largest city East of the Niger, Onitsha kingdom will again take it's pride of place as his government will soon be reconstructing major roads within the town, stating, " We can assure Ndi Onitsha that Solution is here".

He reiterated that Onitsha is an industrious town with a unique culture which rejects evil, and reverence the great Ozo traditional title that depicted the awesomeness of the Igbo culture.

He prayed to God to keep the Obi and his people in continuous good health, protection and prosperity in the coming new year.

 

The  governor was in the company of his wife, Nonye Soludo and cabinet members like the Chief of Staff, Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioner for Culture ,Entertainment and Tourism Hon Don Onyeji, Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Hon Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, Deputy Chief of staff & Chief Protocol, Hon. Chinedu Nwoye (Glamour) and  MD Anambra state Investment, Promotion &Protection Agency, Hon Mark Okoye.
