COME OUT EN MASSE ON SATURDAY AND VOTE FOR PDP, EKWUNIFE URGES ANAMBRARIANS
...Says Valentine Ozigbo possesses the right leadership qualities.
Amidst the unprecedented crowd that graced the Peoples Democratic Party grand governorship campaign rally, the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, has urged Ndi Anambra to come out en masse on Saturday and vote for the party. She expressed optimism that victory for the PDP would simultaneously transform all the sectors of the state economy.
Ekwunife, who spoke on Tuesday November 2, 2021, at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka noted that Anambrarians are yearning for the return of PDP, stressing that the state needs a governor who will redefine governance with an implementable blueprint. The Senator reassured that the candidate of the party, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo possesses the right leadership qualities to tackle the myriad of challenges presently facing the light of the Nation.
The A-grade lawmaker urged Ndi Anambra to join hands to save the state from the clutches of bad governance, adding that everybody should get their voter card ready to vote for the PDP.
"We are here to tell Ndi Anambra that PDP will take over, the next governor is Ozigbo, get your voter card ready and tell everybody to vote PDP", the ranking Senator said.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, HE Peter Obi described the PDP as the best platform to develop the state, noting that the party's flag bearer will transform Anambra state. Obi commended Ozigbo's performance during the Anambra Governorship Debate, adding that Ozigbo is the only candidate who effortlessly defended his blueprint.
The former governor and Vice Presidential Candidate of the party in the 2019 general elections further decried the debt profile of the state, urging voters to speak through the ballot by electing Ozigbo come November 6.
In his speech, the Chairman of Anambra PDP National Campaign Council, HE Okezie Ikpeazu assured that Ozigbo would create an enabling environment for the state to develop, adding that the train has left the state for the recovery of Nigeria in 2023 and Anambra should be part of the conversation on the rescue mission.
The Umuobiakwa-born governor noted that all the governors elected under the platform of PDP are strongly supporting Ozigbo, stressing that on November 6, a vote for PDP is for transformation of the state. He encouraged Ndi Anambra to ensure they vote and defend their votes without fear.
On his part, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa expressed delight by the turn out of youths, stressing that Saturday's election is for the youths. He pleaded with people who are aggrieved because of the outcome of the primary election to forgive, adding that the time is ripe to rebuild Anambra state.
Speaking further, Okowa who is the deputy Chairman of Anambra PDP National Campaign Council said that the outcome of the party's convention has sent a message to Nigerians that PDP would return to power and a victory in Anambra state would give the party the needed momentum.
Also speaking, Governor Seyi Makinde described Saturday's election as not a choice between good and evil but a choice of the best amongst the candidates. He described Ozigbo as the best candidate in the race, appealing to Ndi Anambra to come together and deliver the party at the polls. Governor Mankinde assured that he would be back to the state to celebrate the party's victory.
Meanwhile, the Edo state counterpart, HE Godwin Obaseki who was represented by the deputy, Philip Shaibu said that Saturday's poll would determine the future of Anambra state. He advised Ndi Anambra to stick with the PDP, according to him, the party has the interest of the people at heart.
In his remarks, the party's flag bearer, Valentine Ozigbo said that he is committed towards making the state work again. He promised that he would improve the quality of education, health and infrastructure, adding that his emergence will bring a positive attitudinal shift in governance.
Ozigbo further said that Ndi Anambra would experience a better leadership under his watch, promising that he will not fail Anambrarians if elected as the next governor come November 6.
Highlights of the colourful and well-attended rally were the official handover of the party's flag to Ozigbo by the party NWC represented by HE Okezie Ikpeazu and also the welcoming of hundreds of thousands of decampees from various political parties in the state.

Ben Obi, Iyom Josephine Anenih and Prof. ABC Nwosu, National Auditor elect, Mr. Okechukwu Daniel, member representing Ogbaru Federal constituency, Hon. Chuchu Onyema, member representing Idemili North and South Federal constituency, Hon. Obinna Chidoka, former gubernatorial candidate, Oseloka H Obaze, former deputy candidate, Lady Chidi Onyemelukwe, PDP members of ASHA, campaign DG, Dr Alex Obiogbolu amongst others.
