NEWS Flash: Governor Ikpeazu scraps “Pandemic Prevention fee” in ABSU

 


Rising from a recent Press Release attributed to Abia State University, Uturu requesting that students pay a certain amount spent by the institution on fumigation and other Covid 19 prevention procedures, the Visitor of the University and the Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has cancelled the payment.

 In the release, the school demanded that the students pay the sum of N15,000 in what  it tagged “Pandemic Prevention Fee”. 

Governor Ikpeazu while rising to ocassion swiftly scrapped the said amount in a town hall meeting with the students and management of the state University.


 However, Governor Ikpeazu authorized the payment of  N30,000 pocket money to Abia students in the institution to help cushion the effects of Covid19 on the students and their families.

EEDC ANNOUNCES GENERAL SYSTEM COLLAPSE

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has informed it's esteemed customers of a general system collapse that occurred at 18:48 hours today, 14th October, 2024.  According to a statement issued by EEDC Head, Corporate Communication, Emeka Eze, the collapse has resulted in the loss of supply currently being experienced across EEDC network. Consequently, due to this development, all our according to him "interface TCN stations are out of supply, and we are unable to provide services to our customers in Abia, Anambra,  Ebonyi,  Enugu, and Imo States". Senator Chukwu Debunks Rumour Of His Exit From Labour Party

Senator Kelvin Chukwu representing Enugu East Senatorial Zone at the National Assembly has denied the fake resignation letter circulating in the media, falsely claiming that he has resigned from the Labour Party.  The Sanator described it as a deliberate act of misinformation aimed at misleading the public and causing unnecessary confusion.
