EID EL-FITR CELEBRATION: COMMAND FELICITATES WITH MUSLIMS; AS CP CALLS FOR RESPONSIBLE FESTIVITIES AMID COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WHILE ASSURING ADEQUATE SECURITY
The Enugu State Command has congratulated Muslims in the State, wishing them well as they join the Muslim Ummah in the celebrations.
This follows the successful completion of this year 2020 Ramadan, culminating in the Eid el-Fitr Festival.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad AbdurRahman, while entreating Muslims to go about the Celebration in the most responsible manner, also called on them to adhere strictly to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) COVID-19 pandemic preventive protocols and the containment/restriction orders of Governments.
In a release signed by the commands PPRO, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, the Commissioner further reminded residents of the State that, apart from the recent guidelines for the guided and partial reopening of Ogbete Main Market and the stipulated operational time for designated foods, pharmaceuticals and other daily essential needs in the markets, all other containment/restriction orders of the Federal and Enugu State Governments remain in force; and must be complied with till further notice.
The CP further directed the maximum deployment of the Command’s operational and intelligence resources and warned all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Tactical/Operational Departments to be dutiful and proactive to avert intolerable security lapses.
Accordingly, he has assured residents of the State of adequate security during and after these festive and public holidays’ period.
