EKWEREMADU ASSURE COMMUNITIES IN ENUGU WEST OF PORTABLE WATER THROUGH BORE HOLES




Former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has assured communities in Enugu West Senatorial District of solving their water problems through the digging of bore holes in every community in the District; especially those with underground water.

The Senator maintained that he has found the solution to water related problems by importing a motorized drilling machine that is capable of drilling boreholes through out the District and beyond, assuring that solving the perennial water problems in the District is now his priority.


Senator Ekweremadu spoke while playing host to the people of Akama Oghe in Ezeagu Local Government Area, who paid him a courtesy visit in his Enugu residence over the weekend assured them that drilling of boreholes is now a matter of priority to him. 

He used the opportunity to plead with communities in his constituency to be patient as the borehole drilling machine will be moving from community to community, adding that beyond representation, it was also good to develop the habit of giving back to the people. 


He said “ Water is essential to life.  We have found a solution to water problems in our constituency. Once a community is patient in Enugu West, the motorized drilling vehicle will get to them through our “water for all scheme”. The vehicle will move from community to community to provide portable water to all. Let me assure you that beyond representation, it  good to utilize privileges for the development of mankind, which is giving and supporting the people”. 

Ekweremadu urged communities to continue to maintain peace in their domain which will in turn promote development , stressing that at all times, resources are limited but demands are unlimited. He also reiterated that as parliamentarians, it takes lobbying and networking to get projects attracted, assuring to continue in his tireless efforts to attract more and more projects in other to alleviate the sufferings of the people.


In their separate addresses, the former commissioner for youths and sports, Enugu State, Hon Joe Udedi and Prof Stanley Udedi, Dean, Students Affairs Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, both commended the Senator for the quality representation he is providing the constituency and urged him to continue in his service to the people.
