Enugu NUJ Elects New Excos


The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Enugu State Council, on Wednesday, elected new executives that will run the affairs of the union in the next three years.
The incumbent chairman, Rex Arum of Advocate Newspaper, was returned unopposed as chairman as well as Sam Udekwe of Enugu State Broadcasting Service, as his deputy.


Others who were returned unopposed are Emmanuel Acha, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), as Assistant Secretary, Amaka Uchenna-Eze of State Information, Auditor.
Meanwhile Amaka Agbo and Mrs. Anthonia Okafor, both of State Ministry of Information, contested for the office of Secretary. Agbo, who polled 43 votes, defeated Okafor, who got three votes.

Speaking with journalists after the swearing-in ceremony at the NUJ secretary on Wednesday, Arum thanked members of the union for the support accorded him to serve them again.
