Despite the 2015 Economic crunch and the bad state of the nation's Economy, the Executive Governor of Enugu State - HE Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi:
1. Has ensured Enugu State is not among the other 27 states who didn't depend on bailout funds to run the affairs of government
2. Enugu State Workers kept receiving salaries on the 23rd of the month & pensioners on or before month-end.
3. Increased the State IGR and paid salaries even without federal allocation.
4. Has spent N50b on rural road construction covering 450km. Construction of major bypass - two 9th Mile bypass, the Agbani-Amurri Road in Nkanu West LGA, the Ogonogoeji-Ndiagu-Akpugo road. The Ngenevu road and provision of 500 KVA transformers as well as the Eha-Amufu-Nkalagu road neglected for 35 years.
5. Empowered 2400 traders with 50,000 to grow their businesses.
6. Renovated 589 primary & secondary schools
7. Employed 4000 teachers
8. Employment of 1000 youth in Enugu Clean Team Project
9. Empowered 750 youths under SDGs
10. Provided 100 units 1bdr for 100 lucky civil servants from under grade level 1-10
11. Construction/Renovation of District Hospitals (Poly Clinic, Asata, Enugu & UDI)
12. Construction of 14 new court buildings across the State
13. Completion of the State-of-the-art Enugu State Diagnostic Center
13. Addition of 5 new state-of-the-art fire stations
14. Rehabilitation of Ajali & Oji River Water Treatment Schemes
15. Inaugurated the N10 million 'One Community, One Project' scheme in all rural areas of the state.
16. Procurement & reequipping Enugu State Teaching Hospital with state-of-the art medical equipment.
17. Construction & renovation of Urban roads in Independence Layout, New Haven, Maryland, Trans Ekulu, Airforce-Abakpa -Penoks-Onitsha Expressway, Emene, Abakpa Nike, 9th Mile & Nsukka. Also New Market-Miliken Hill-Ngwo-9th Mile road, Abakpa Nike, Nike Lake, Opi-Nsukka dual carriageway & Ogbaku Road

That's why he truly deserves the Sun Governor of the Year Award bestowed on him in 2018.

EEDC ANNOUNCES GENERAL SYSTEM COLLAPSE

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has informed it's esteemed customers of a general system collapse that occurred at 18:48 hours today, 14th October, 2024.  According to a statement issued by EEDC Head, Corporate Communication, Emeka Eze, the collapse has resulted in the loss of supply currently being experienced across EEDC network. Consequently, due to this development, all our according to him "interface TCN stations are out of supply, and we are unable to provide services to our customers in Abia, Anambra,  Ebonyi,  Enugu, and Imo States". "We are on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo.

Unbearable Cost: Table, sachet water producers shut down production in Enugu

  The Association of Table Water Producers (ATWAP) says it will shut down and suspend production in all water producing factories in Enugu State due to unbearable high cost of production. This is contained in a statement issued by the Chairman of ATWAP,  Enugu State Chapter, Tony Edike and its State Secretary, Sir Clems Nwamadi, on Sunday in Enugu. The statement was issued after members of ATWAP Enugu State Chapter held an emergency meeting in Enugu on Feb.8, 2024, on challenges confronting all members of the association. It said from Monday, Feb. 12 to Thursday, Feb.15, 2024 all Table Water Producers in Enugu State including Sachets and Pet Bottles are required to down tools and suspend all production.
