Enugu State Board of Internal Revenue shutdown banks over non payment of revenue.

the state government.

Following a court order, the Enugu State Board of Internal Revenue today sealed the business offices of some key commercial banks in Enugu State.

Some of those affected are the Rangers Avenue and Ogui Road branches of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) and the two branches of Sterling Bank in Enugu.

They are found wanting for non payment of Withholding Tax on interest deduction due to the Enugu State Government for the period of 2015 and 2016, totaling N46 million and N72 million, respectively.








It is expected that some other business establishments will be affected in the ongoing exercise.
