NIGERIANS ARE IN SAFE HANDS IN MY HUSBAND’S ADMINISTRATION, SAYS AISHA BUHARI
The wife of the presient, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, has assured
Nigerians that her husband’s administration will usher in unity, love and
integrity in the country and that they are in safe hands in his administration.
Mrs. Buhari in an address on her maiden visit to Enugu State
to flag-off her health screening initiative programme, noted that Nigerians are
in safe hands under her husband’s administration since he means to safeguard
their future through good governance.
She noted that the administration of her husband is
committed to promotion of health status of the rural women and the less
privileged.
According to Mrs. Buhari, her love for the down trodden has
necessitated the introduction of the screening exercise, especially this period
of economic hardship when rural women lack the financial strength to access
healthcare delivery.
In her words, “This health screening exercise will be
attending to not less than 2,000 women from virtually all the 17 local
government areas of the state.”
She added that volunteer health professionals will be
rendering free medical health services to the women, adding that the screening
tests include cervical cancer, eye check, diabetes, high-blood pressure and
others.
She said “I am delighted; we are all gathered here with all
the governors’ wives of this region to provide these selfless services. It is important to know that this exercise is
voluntarily with all the medical personnel rendering services free of charge.”
In a welcome address, the wife of Enugu State Governor, Mrs.
Monica Ugwuanyi expressed deep appreciation over the first lady’s kind gesture
towards the rural women and the less privilege in the state, describing the
exercise as a miracle
Mrs. Ugwuanyi praised Mrs. Buhari for her prompt response to
the cries and groaning of widows and the less privileged on the state, adding
that not less than two thousand women in the state will be accessing free
health care daily for promotion of better health and prevention of impending
health crises as well.
Mrs. Ugwuanyi added that her office has perfected plans to
replicate the screening exercise in the seventeen local governments of the
state.
She thanked Enugu State Government, doctors, nurses and
other professionals who worked tirelessly in ensuring the success of the day’s
event.
