Electricity Consumers Berate Aba Lawyer for “Playing to the Gallery”

The Southeastern Zone of the Electricity Consumers Association of Nigeria (ECAN) has accused an Aba-based legal practitioner, Larry Iroka, of playing to the gallery in guiding his client, Aba Electricity Consumers Forum, on clear and decided legal matters. Enugu State has bagged the hosting rights for the 2025 National Festival of Arts and Culture themed “Connected Culture. Handing over the hosting rights to Governor Peter Mbah at the Enugu State Government House, the Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, Obi Asika, said that the choice of Enugu for the event, which takes place from November 22 to 29, 2025, was based on the city’s rich history, cultural heritage, potentials, and recent developments which he described as 'great things happening' in the state. Damaged masts on the Mexican Navy training ship Cuauhtémoc after it crashed into New York City's Brooklyn Bridge Two people have been killed and 19 others injured after a tall Mexican Navy training sailing ship crashed into New York City's Brooklyn Bridge. Police said the Cuauhtémoc, with 277 people on board, lost power on Saturday as the captain was manoeuvring the vessel, forcing it to head for the bridge abutment on the Brooklyn side. Footage shows the ship's towering masts clip the bridge as it passed under the structure. Crew members were standing on the masts as they snapped and fell to the deck, authorities said. Brooklyn resident Nick Corso, who witnessed the accident, said the area erupted in panic. There was "lots of screaming, some sailors hanging from the masts," he told AFP. ISPIC LAUNCHES GERMAN CENTRE AND GERMAN LANGUAGE SCHOOL LANGUAGE IN ENUGU

  In a significant step toward fostering intercultural understanding and economic growth, the Institute for Social Peace and Intercultural Competence (ISPIC) has commissioned its German centre and German Language School at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu. Speaking on the occasion, the founder of ISPIC, Engr. Anthony Dominic, while  sharing the project’s vision, stressed its transformative impact on Nigerian youths. “This initiative is about elevating and equipping young people with the skills to excel in their chosen fields, free of charge, while addressing economic challenges,” he said.
