Foreign Affairs Minister Tuggar receives 20 Scholarship grants from ESMT, for Nigerian students to study in Germany

Twenty Nigerian Students have been offered  Scholarships to study at the ESMT, Berlin, Germany.  Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, on August 28, 2024, accepted a special scholarship for twenty Nigerian students to study at the prestigious European School of Management and Technology, Berlin, Germany.  The scholarship programme was announced at a special dinner organized in his honour by Lars Windhorst, a German entrepreneur and co-founder of Sapinda Group and owner of the fashion company, La Perla, in Berlin, Germany.  According to the Special Assistant to the Honorable Minister on Media and Communications Strategy, Alkasim Abdulkadir, the event which was held at the exclusive China Club in Berlin was attended by leaders from the private and public sectors including the President of ESMT Berlin, Jörg Rocholl.  Accepting the scholarship, Amb. Nigeria Seeks Japan and Others' Cooperation in Tackling Security Challenges in Africa

  Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has decried the spate of security threats in Africa and its implications for the continent’s development.  He disclosed this while speaking at the Ministerial Meeting of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) held from August 24th to 25th, 2024 in Tokyo, Japan.  He said that Africa’s security and development landscape is increasingly witnessing complex threats in the form of terrorism and transnational organized crimes.  According to the Special Assistant on Media and Communications Strategy to the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alkasim Abdulkadir, the Minister opined that these vices are destabilising Africa’s peace and security architecture, undermining the pursuit of democracy and good governance, and disincentivising foreign direct investors from investing on the continent. Shiite Muslim's Protest turns bloody in Abuja leaving two policemen dead, others injured

PHOTOS: Viewers discretion adviced!  An unplanned protest by Shiite Muslims in Abuja today has left two policemen dead, others injured with ten of the protesters gunned down by the police.  The attack which occurred around the Zone 7 police command at Zone 3 Wuse left lots of panic amongst residents and the nearby Wuse market, which was later shutdown as a result of the incident.  The remains of those killed in the course of the attack have been taken to the Wuse General Hospital while some others in critical condition were rushed to National Hospital Abuja.  So far no statement has been issued by either the Force Public Relations Officer or the group that carried out the attack.  The Supreme Leader of the Shiite group, known as the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky have been behind some key protests in the North.  After spending five months receiving medical treatment in Iran, Zakzaky and his wife Zeenah returned to Abuja early this year with a strong resolve

MOT capitalizes on faulty traffic light to extort commuters in Enugu

Ajuri Ngelale, the president’s spokesman, has urged television, radio, and other electronic media outlets to connect to the broadcasts provided by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).   The Nigeria Police Force finds it necessary to refute a recent report publicized by Amnesty International, which claims that thirteen (13) individuals have lost their lives due to the protests in Nigeria that began on 1st August 2024. Amnesty International further alleges that security personnel deliberately employed tactics designed to kill while managing gatherings and used firearms as a tactical tool for protest management.   The Nigeria Police Force in a release issued to newsmen says it was providing an accurate account of incidents from the first two days of the nationwide protests. In Borno State, according to the police, four individuals lost their lives and thirty-four were severely injured in a terrorist attack by suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP elements who infiltrated the crowd of protesters and detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
