68th Anniversary: Nigerian Navy Secures Zero Piracy Status for Nigeria
The Nigerian Navy has ensured that Nigeria maintained its zero piracy status in the International Maritime Bureau piracy rating. Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla stated this today at the International Press Conference on the Nigerian Navy 68TH Anniversary Celebrations 2024, scheduled to hold from Friday, 24 May – Saturday, 1 June 2024 in Lagos. Vice Admiral Ogalla represented by the Chief of Policy and Plan (Navy), Rear Admiral Joseph Daniel Akpan affirmed that Nigerian Navy has provide all year-round situation awareness of Nigeria’s maritime domain extending to the limits of the Exclusive Economic Zone through its Maritime Domain Awareness Facilities which enabled early detection and swift response to incidences within the maritime environment.
