The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has endorsed the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Akitu was endorsed on Thursday during a meeting of Imeobi, the highest decision making body of Ohanaeze. A communique was issued after the meeting and signed by John Nnia Nwodo, President General Ohaneze Ndigbo World Wide. Ohaneze noted that the nomination of Peter Obi by a major political party, PDP as the Vice presidential candidate has given Ndigbo an opportunity for inclusivity. Nwodo went ahead to urge Ndigbo to seize the moment.  Oby Ezekwesili has this morning  stepped aside from the presidential race and has rather opted to help build a coalition to defeat the All Progressives Congress and the People’s Democratic Party in the  February 16, 2019  election. There was elation at the Government House, Enugu on Thursday when three victims of the recent fire outbreak at a petrol station in Trans Ekulu, Enugu whose commercial bus and two tricycles were burnt during the inferno took delivery of replaced ones donated by the governor, in fulfillment of his promise when he visited the scene.
